Maxcase - Oil & Gas (Gas line) Reconstruction of gas piping that showed advanced corrosion in the external area, causing loss of thickness.
✳️ Challenge:
The gas line has very advanced corrosion in the external area, causing loss of thickness.
🛠️ Scope of Activities:
- MaxCeramic 1612 was applied, smoothing and restoring the geometry, restoring the original cylindrical shape of the pipe.
- Structural reinforcement was applied with MaxComp 9182, restoring the pipe's pressure capacity and ensuring its original operating conditions.
- Ceramic coating was applied for restoration, and structural reinforcement was applied to maintain its original condition.
✅Solution:
After analyzing the level of corrosion found, and taking into account the sea spray factor, the application of ceramic coating for restoration and viscoelastic structural reinforcement was chosen to maintain its original condition.
✅✅ Conclusions
With this mix of solutions applied, where each one complemented the effectiveness of the other, it was not necessary to stop production or interrupt supply to replace the damaged section, keeping the operation 100% active and saving time and money.
